The Aidsfonds sex work programme has worked on the ‘Sex work & violence in Kenya’ research report as part of Bridging the Gaps.
The report presents the main findings of a participatory research in Kenya examining violence against sex workers. The results provide insights into:
• The levels of violence experienced by sex workers
• The type of perpetrators
• Factors that increase the risk of experiencing violence
• Mitigation factors to lower the risk of violence towards sex workers
The ‘Sex Work & Violence in Kenya’ research has been a collaboration between Aidsfonds, BHESP, COSWA, Eagles for Life, the Government of the Republic of Kenya, HOYMAS, HAPA Kenya, Hope World Wide, Empowering Marginalised Communities, KESWA, the University of Nairobi and VU University.
